Last Minute Bangalore Experiences
These last few weeks of GCIL have been jam packed with work and last minute Bangalore experiences. Groups pivoting and pivoting again (frankly I feel as though the word ‘pivot’ has been used so much it lost its meaning), scrambling to get ideas in on time.
For my team, this past week has been another struggle with health, the GCIL curse of weekend trip-related sickness finally claiming me as its victim. Stuck in bed with brain fog leaving me unable to create coherent sentences, I’ve felt helpless. Thankfully, three mostly sick people and one healthy person equals still managing to get most of our work done (thankfully our competitive spirit in resource grids has left us less busy work to do).
After recovering with not one but three separate orders from our favorite Thai spot, Lan Thai, I felt healthy enough to take on the weekend. On Saturday, we had a leisurely coffee and Nutella crepe for a pre-breakfast snack before our actual meal of ramen which left us full and mostly satisfied. Then a nap in Cubbon park before heading back to UTC to nap some more and get ready for our night. After dinner and refreshments at a local bar, some of us went to a rave with an artist called Illenium. Loud blaring music, heavy bass drops, bright lights, and strangely cinematic video backgrounds were the perfect way to let our thoughts go free and just jump around for a while.
Sunday morning we ordered some Indian McDonalds and had a confusing but interesting McMeal. Highlights include a McCheese chicken burger with jalapenos, a McPizza puff, and a deceivingly difficult to open bottle of cold coffee. Later, we fed the local UTC dog a few treats before going out to dinner for, you guessed it, more Lan Thai. After we got ice cream at the local Corner House where I got a decadent slice of sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, we walked off our full stomach by wandering through the local neighborhoods admiring the architecture of the houses and feeding more stray dogs. Finally, we called it a night and went back home. A perfect way to end a week of sickness and recovery.
