The Road Ahead
Last week was a challenging one, marked by slow progress due to both Matt and me falling ill with the mysterious GCIL sickness that has affected so many. These past few weeks have been a peculiar mix of feeling like I’ve accomplished nothing while simultaneously feeling as though I’ve been working tirelessly. As our deadlines loom closer, the pressure to complete our initial reports to both our respective organizations and GCIL increases. Despite the vague shape of our problem and solution, I remain hopeful that the interviews scheduled for today and Thursday will provide much-needed insight and guidance.
Within the GCIL community, conversations revolve around the progress of each team’s solutions, the advancement of our reports, and the dynamics within our teams. Despite being a small group consisting of Matt, Arielle, and myself, I am grateful for our cohesive teamwork. It’s remarkable how well we complement each other’s strengths, considering the amount of time we spend together—eating, working, and brainstorming ideas. While it wouldn’t be uncommon for conflicts to arise in such close quarters, we’ve managed to mesh well together. Each day brings new challenges, but it’s reassuring to know that we can rely on one another for support and encouragement. As we navigate the final stages of our project, I am confident that our collective efforts will yield meaningful results. Despite the setbacks and uncertainties, there’s a sense of optimism that propels us forward, fueled by our shared commitment to making a difference.
